33* what metal makes the color purple?

I'm feeling very tired today--not really connected to anything at the moment and ready to go to sleep. I feel I am making a little progress writing the Kenny stories and I am happy with that. More to come...

Element of the day(day 33)
#25) Mn- Manganese-] metal
Critical for life processes for plants and animals.
Discovered in 1774 by Johann Gahn, Sweden.
Brittle, hard, pinkish-gray metal. Hardens and strengthens steel and other metals. Used in black paints and to color glass purple. Responsible for the purple color in amethyst. Used in feed supplements and fertilizers.

Present in many minerals. Manganese is concentrated in marine chemical sedimentary rocks, mined in Gabon, South Africa, Australia, and Brazil.
~well, now I know what is responsible for my favorite color~
