For many months I have been existing in a veil of darkness. Not only in mourning because Kenny died but also because I lost the feeling of being connected to him; with my spiritual beliefs I expected to hear from him- to have a clairvoyant or clairaudio experience and I haven't since the first days after he died. So for the past couple months, actually since Mother's Day I have been living dark, dark days of sadness uncomprable to any others I have known.
And I have prayed, begged, screamed and cried for my son to connect with me. After such a meltdown this morning I decided to take a nap in Kenny's room which I haven't done in weeks. When I awoke, it happened...I had an idea for creating this blog while staring at Kenny's Periodic Table!!
Okay, first off I'm no blogger, I read one once for a college class but other than that not much experience; and even more than that I'm not that great with a computer. I always have to call my younger brothers Nick and Matt for help. So thanks to Matt for helping me get started :)*.
Now on to Kenny' s Periodic Table. It is gigantic and colorful and Kenny loved it! He wanted one so much he purchased it on the Internet and I remember the day he got it in the mail. He was so excited :-)) he wanted to get it on his wall right away, so after searching for push pins (which took awhile..) he placed it on the wall next to his bed. And there it was looking at me when I woke up and I thought of how much Kenny loved chemistry and his element chart.
Then I thought of using the names of the elements as my signature for my text messages; then I thought of sharing info on facebook; then I thought of creating this blog to share more info. Picture of Periodic Table coming soon, as soon as I can figure out how to get it onto my computer and onto this blog..heavy laughs!!
To start I am going to relay the information for one square of his chart everyday. There are 120 squares of information and 120 days until the one year anniversary of Kenny's death~ AMAZING, I know!!!!!!!!!!!
There are five types of elements: Liquids, Gases, Non-metal solids, Metals, and Radioactive elements. This is the order I will use:
#35) Br-Bromine: Beneficial to full health,or thought to be for both plants and animals.
Discovered in 1826 by Antoine Jerome Balard of France and C. Lowig of Germany. One of only two elements that are a liquid at room temperature (Mercury is the other). Used in water purification compounds, dyes, fumigants and pesticides, fire fighting chemicals and photographic chemicals, fire proofing agents and to make plastics flame resistant.
Generally obtained from brine wells in Michigan and Arkansas. Some from sea water and sea salts. The only common bromine-bearing mineral is silver bromine (bromargyrite) main production is in USA and Israel.
That is the first square I will share....I'm sure Kenny is having a great laugh over me right now but after all he was the chemistry geek in the family and I am ecstatic that I finally have a connection again with my unique and wonderful son whom I miss every day with all my heart.
Until tomorrow...
